Time to make some changes with file-hosting services.
As you know, our mandatory file hosts are: RapidShare or MediaFire + ANY other mirrors.
Why we want to change it?
Because last week RS and MF has started to suspend many uploaders accounts without clear reason.
And for free users , download speed is very low with RS, limit upload size, throttle upload speed.
As suggested by our members, we will allow uploaders to chose their preferred file hosts.
We choose options :
- All articles MUST provide minimum 3 mirrors + all of file hostings MUST support free download.
- Uploaders MUST not set download links for premium users only.
- Do not delete the old files you have uploaded to RS/MF which was posted on SA before.
When we find good and stable file hosts , sure it's will be in mandatory file-host list. We hope Members and Visitors will co-operate with us for better SoftArchive.
No no I beg of you. Please keep leeching from other sites so I only have to come here and a couple of small specialist sites instead of needing to spend all day finding what I want. Thank you.
Just another service I will now have to spend money on until our minds are changed again. It is a much different story when something is shut down by external forces and we are thus forced to change but this one will surely be the downfall of all if not most of the RS links here.
Agree with wycchip and pupolek and bobby77. Just bought 6months RS account for the reason SA specified RS as a mandatory server. Please SA let RS/MF rule stay as it is!!!! Everytime we have to spend money on a new server...billions of new servers arising but RS is the most reliable until now.
I have used RS since 2008 or 2009. I also used FS until a few months ago. For me RS was always stable and reliable. I agree that RS should be the minimum mandatory and then the rest left to the uploader. Having a 100 file hosts will only complicate things for everyone as it will be harder to choose a good one. And free downloads from these hosts suck nowadays with speed limit
I agree, having used rapidshare before, then moved to filesonic (and we know what happened there) and now back to rapidshare. Maybe they don't give as generous an incentive for uploaders, but at least as a downloader I know what I'm getting. Don't have to jump through "adfly" hoops, and spamers. Rapidshare is what sets softarchive apart from the sites that that you have to sift through 30 links to find one that works!

If RS will go away probably I'll go away, too. The only reason I came here was this mandatory RS. THat is what made your site so special and appreciated. Too bad this comes to an end.
I think the majority of your users assume your proposal will improve availability and transfer speeds but this may not be the case. Why not ask established providers like RS etc why they impose these retrictions to better understand their problems and seek their proposals on how it could be improved before you loose them. If someone their the size resorts to speed restrictions, smaller providers will simply crumble under the same levels of bandwidth demand. Aslo many of your subscribers have long term commitments to these file hosts to obtain economies of scale.
I already have several premium accounts and won't buy any more. This use to be a very good site but not so much any more. Do what you want, it really doesn't matter.
Always my luck! I bought 2 (two) days ago a 5 months subscription to rapidshare. Which BTW works very well. From what I can guess the uploaders will not post on RS anymore.
What i like about this site is a mirror link which should be available to all posts.But i really mean all posts.No matter if it is rs or MF.Just a filehoster which should be availalable for all articles.I have seen many sites that were promoting different filehosters so even if one could get a premmium account some links still can not be obtained.
RS & MF should be kept mandatory! If download speed is slow for free RS then BUY your fair share of bandwidth. Nothing is free in this world. It costs RS & MF money to keep the bandwidth throttle at full afterburner for paying customers.

Softarchive is one of the last place on the net where to find RS files.

I also agree with both of these user and cocosuds comment. RS is the most reliable, and if talking to them can setup a stable base then, we should do that.
but at least RS doesn't crash after you've spent three hours downloading a file (ridiculously slow download speed) only to have an error message at the end (as several of the mirrors have done to me lately)....I like MediaFire too, very stable and not so slow.
On your advice over the last couple of years I have boughty premium accounts with FileServe, Filesonic, HotFile, and RS. The first two quit hosting downloads and HotFile almost never appears as download option. Only RS remains as mandatory and now you are doing away with that. I am tired of buying premium accounts on your advice, only to have them disappear. I have been using SoftArchive for a long time and intend to keep using it, but would appreciate some consideration. At least one file host must be the favourite or mandatory.
Cant have every uploader choosing they own little unknown uploaders.
this will just cause chaos and support will fade.
One reputable file host eg Netload,Filepost,Extabit etc should be mandatory.
Wonderful idea. I found some of the File host offer "Free" download & when you click the link, wait for the download to start, a message pops up stating you have used your free down load, Bullshit, never downloaded before. So good for you guys.
RapidShare has always worked for me. Please dont stop them. TALK to them and sort it out with them. Thanks to SA Team for nice WebSite, BUT please keep RapidShare
It's a kind of joke? RAPIDSHARE is top speed download and no hassle. Please shell out the bit of money and buy a premium account. If you want to save and also help the uploader buy from them the rapids (usually a 50% discount)....
a lot of us were stung last time with rapidsh!t we bought premium and they shut the door. so not going to happen twice. i don't mind using it as a free DL for very small files ie less than 15Mb.
I like the idea of multi hosts as I can dl from multiple different hosts at the same time. this obviates the speed restrictions.
It is still early days after the megaup load fiasco. This solution is good until such time as the euro hosts improve their service. R'gator is a good example. They have under gone upgreades, though they still need to improve more. Others continue to improve.
The continued uncertainty in the hosts stability, however, suggests we should not commit to any single host yet.
You are right pal, but if the size of file are more 30 MB you have nothing to do..Ok will be if the size of file in RS will be less the 30 MB..Its an option..
So what are you going to do when one day you get a letter from your Interent service provider with information that you had been sued for downloading of illegal content. And they come up with the list what you downloaded in last two years? Grow up or pay the price man!
he'll sue the ass of him for illegally monitoring his electronic communications, not all of us live in the land of the scared, here it's a crime for anyone to monitor my communications without a court order, plus there is this thing called the personal privacy law and isp's are forbidden from keeping track of any browsing habits.
MF is the best! In terms of what? Crappy upload speed. Almost suspend every account that involve copyrighted content. Pretty much no-one uses it around but it's mandatory. What kind of sense does it make to you? I'm having hard time understanding this. RS is not any better. They suspend accounts, free download speed sucks. Ahh, I forgot it's realible right. But just for you coz you click on download and get stuff.
in first time you throw like this to us (when SOPA came), many of us suggest RS and mediafire, but until now, no mediafire you share, maybe this is the good time to try mediafire, of course keep the RS...
I don't understand how anyone without premium account can expect to download any decent amount of whatever content you provide. Now when we established the fact that YOU HAVE TO PAY for premium account or else you are screwed, of all these available (I tried them few) only worth having is RS. And as someone here mentioned already, that was the only reason I come here religiously. If RS is gone as mandatory uploaders will not upload there but to some shity hosters because they want their points or whatever else they get for the number of downloads.
Personally I am not going to waste time on any board where there are no RS links. So goodbye SOFTARCHIVE! It was a pleasure while it lasted :(
This is one of two sites I use. I purchase my filehost subscription monthly to make sure that I am able to download where I want. If you change the site not to have a mandatory filehost, I think you will kill your site. You need to have at least one host that your traffic can count on. If not it will get fragmented and people won't bother any longer. I currently prefer Rapidshare because I just reupped, but at the worst I loose a month. After having long time subscriptions and the sites getting closed by governments or other reasons I will no longer subscribe to anything more than a month, so please just make sure there is something we can count on.
Huh? Italiano, the title says "No More File Hosts Mandatory?". Inside you read: "we will allow uploaders to chose their preferred file hosts". Sorry but SA team is thinking about leaving the complete choice of the cyberlocker to the uploaders. And I don't think uploaders will choose RapidShare as one of the three.

Il punto non è QUALE host, ma il fatto di averne UNO obbligatorio per tutti (rapidshare, mediafire, ecc.). Se ogni uploader ne sceglie 3 diversi dei centinaia a disposizione nessuno farà più utenze premium e che softarchive perderà i visitatori. Gli utenti stanno chiedendo di mantenere rapidshare perchè è quello per cui hanno già pagato. L'uploader riceve da rapidshare dei rapids che può rivendere. Io stesso compro sempre i miei abbonamenti premium dagli uploader.

Personalmente non mi interessa che servizio di uploading venga scelto, l'importante è che ce ne sia UNO fisso per tutti. Secondo me SA dovrebbe chiedere a VOI uploaders quale preferite (sondaggio? votazione?). Per me pagare rapidshare o mediafire o easybytes o ddlstorage è assolutamente indifferente (l'importante è che sia compatibile con jdownloader :). Chiaro che se devo comprare account premium per 3 o 4 host la cosa cambia.

You really need to keep rapid share links I am fed with buying access to file hosts only to have them go down the drain. It seems Rapidshare is staying and its been around a long time you must keep it.
Why does´t start softarchive not self a file-hosting services free for softarchive members and pay service for non members than there is no hassle with other sh*t file-hosting services that does not work properly

just don't buy life or yearly subscriptions, and as a free user 3 links is great, a bigger file just download 3 links from 3 hosts wait an hour and get the rest, mediafire has started deleting multiple accounts not just files, rs is doing the same + has terrible speed for free users, having them as mandatory is pointless, the rules are good a minimum of 3 links on whatever site the uploader wants. Premium users can buy a service on the most popular host, free users can have a choice.
also want tel about depositfiles. I create acc and after 1 month they block it, dont pay me (send me letter that i use files that protected DCMA... bla bla...)
i think that when admins read all posts thay understand that for more than 90 % users presence of Rapidshare is very important.
And another 2 (that support free download).... members must decide what is best....

Well said my friend. If RapidShare is the best as people said, Just let the uploaders make the decision then about using RS. My choise as mandatory would be Filefactory with 2 free mirrors. They've been around for a long time and as reliable as RapidShare. My opinion is RS or FF as mandatory + 2 mirrors.

It's not about RS or MF,it's about Softarchive itself.
Since the new rules forced all uploaders to mirror their files to RS or MF,the content of the site has decreased.
Many great uploaders have left the site and stopped to upload for it for simple reason,it's not fair to upload my files and waste my time for free just to make softarchive (or any other site) members and visitors happy.
Any uploader here -as SpecialOnE has mentioned - has to pay for his tools like the server he use or premium accounts he buy.
So,for every one who wants RS or MF,I have some few words to say,
You come here every day and download whatever you want for free without paying any cent.At least you shoud be grateful to this guy who brings you these new softwares and warez DVDs.otherwise you should buy it and cost yourself hundreds of dollars every day.
Please SA Team,respect what those uploaders offer to you and to your site every day and do not listen to those who wants to forced the uploaders to waste their time for free because you know that will affect SA negatively,and we do love Softarchive and we hope it will last forever,but we have to accept one real fact,Live never gives a man any thing for free.

People have over the years been doing this for free, just because they liked being helpful and share programs/movies/music with each other. Back when it started, getting connection to the new was more difficult and was costing way more then it is today, but no one complained because they enjoyed doing ti so much.
The some filehosts started to give kickbacks and affiliate programs for people who shared files through them. This started to spread like wildfire amongst every pimplefaced snotty scriptkiddie on the block. "Hey we can make some money dude!"
Getting a connection these days and a premium hosts account costs peanuts compared to what just the connection did 10-20 years ago. Yet, here you sit and complain....boo hoo....someone else won't pay my bills. If you can't afford it, then find something else to do!

It took a lot of time for searching, uploading to file host & presenting to you at SA. Some uploaders come from countries where internet connection are slow & expensive.
I vote for keeping Rapidshare here. We must have a stable site. Even if it decreases the submissions at least you can obtain the files. I purchase premium services but I will draw the line on buying more than two of them, especially since many of the leeched ones are not available in the USA. I comes down to who post where.

Point 1 Do the UPLOADERS have to pay to upload regardless of filehoster used ?
If yes then stay with RS + any other.
I get good tech support from RS and SA and has been the most stable.
This sounds like a commercial fight of other filehosters for the business.
Filefactory, Megadownload stopped there service due to legal reasons whereas RS has a better legal team and has been able to maintain there operation and remain the most stable and the other filehosters are just trying to take the business over
just need to tell you all that virginmedia (was - ntlworld) is now start BLOCK DOWNLOAD SITES... and Softarchive.net and some other are in the list to be Block in 2 weeks time
RS was my first choice and so I gladly paid for premium service but I was unaware that recently they had been throwing people off. Extabit works well enough, but for those of us who pay to use Extabit Premium by the number of files downloaded, it helps if uploaders can put up a couple of large files instead of 10 small files for the same item.
Mostly I hope uploaders remain aware that many of the file hosting services are NOT available in the U.S. :-[

foe downloader can use this website give u 2 day free premium account for almost all host in world and u can buy account it's so cheap.
and i thank all up-loader.so i don't have any problem with any host.
I like RS, but sometimes there are issues with files over 1gig in size
if you do not have a priminum account.

The answer is, of course, Softarchive's owners.
So which group from above should they look after?
Having a multitude of hosts isn't practical for anyone, unless you are an uploader and spread your files far and wide but even then, consolidating your files and having one host means you will make more money.
My choice after losing accounts with RS, HF, Fileserve is MyDownloader. You have multiple premium accounts and only pay for one subscription.
SA should encourage the use of it for downloaders and request uploaders to use only hosts available to mydownloader.
Rapidshare is perfect! Mediafire is pretty good too! I bought 6 months of account RS. It is very fast and stable. Others are not stable and free version ends up being as bad as RS, if not worse! I love softarchive.net. I stopped visiting this site after the disappearance of RS when they came to a daily download quotas. Please do not change, because many people can stop to visit this magnificent site.
For me Filehost or Gigabase would be good choice's (or even Depositfiles because I find some 3 of 4 year old links to them are still live.)
But if they cause problems for Uploaders then then they are no use.
There must be other options then hosts that suspend U/Lers whole accounts if they find one illegal file, no matter how fast they are. And talking to them wouldn't help.
Anyway, thank you to S/A for again giving users some input and to the 95% of the U/Lders for your good work's.
Pay 3 Month for Rapidshare, compared to others: Working stable and smooth. If you drop RS as primary and mandatory FileHoster, then you are going to loose a lot of members. :-/ All others Addtional FileHoster are welcome. Maybe one suggestion: FilePost.com is not so bad after all as a Backup. But I suggest as a backup MediaFire. My 2cents ...
It isn't going to make any difference if posters keep tagging their posts with softarchive.net and using the full name, they are just making it easy for the hosters to find their files and delete them. Personally, it is rapidshare or nothing. Too many of the hosters block access to certain areas and others are so slow they are worthless. I try to support the posters here by downloading from their links, but I can always go elsewhere.

The file tagging ...softarchive.net could be easily tracked.
Perhaps this caused some trouble.
MF and RS are the ONLY reliable hoster we had seen after all that trouble happened.
This hoster roulette sucks , until it is fine to see some other hoster links additional.
Additional = is the word to make the users happy.
Most of this pop upped filehoster will disappear sooner or later anyway.
So which filehoster were the most stable the last 5 years ?

I would like to add my two sentc.
RS has always worked well for me, especially mutilink downloads using IDM etc. I nearly alway use the other providers unless I do not have account with those posted fileshares, that is when I go to RS as the last resort. Not because there is any problem or being slow, just to spread the download bites etc.

Rapidshare is the fastest and most reliable file hoster, I can reach 100 Megabits prt second with Rapidshare.
They also use https for download links. blocking, speed throttling and monitoring https traffic is almost impossible or really hard for ISPs and Government

Rapidshare and Mediafire are the best. Had been using hotfile, fileserve, etc until they closed down to the U.S. Have never had any problems with RS or MF and RS is extremely fast with premium account. Hope these upcoming changes dont ruin this great site.
Everyone must keep in mind that the software, music, in fact every file on this site is worth a lot of money, especially some of the software and it's offered for FREE. So if you can't afford a file hosting / downloading account such as RS then you have nothing to complain about. I think RS is the best and most stable with the ability to pickup broken files if you have a drop out. But as long as Softarchive say it is reliable, I don't care who I have to pay to continue this service. Thank U....S.A.
The reason for me to come here every day was because of the RS links.
If poster would not use name of file. They would not be deleted as often from servers
RS will still be around after all the other file servers have come and gone. I have used RS.com for over 9 years no problem.
That's a very good idea mate. I've been using Premium RS, Exta & Leti for such a long time now. RS was my favourite because of reliable copy and paste in IDM while the others I have to download from Exta & Leti website.
I never had issue with RS as long as the name of products are not in the download links otherwise the links will not last.
More mirrors are welcome.
I have used many file sharing host providers over the times, but I have began to notice that Rapidshare is slowing down again even if your a pro member.
File Sonic and Hotfile are gone.
There are still a few that work a bit better, but not many people use them so they kind of fade in and out when it comes to variety.
The one that I have really noticed over the last 2 years and its free is Media Fire.
This file sharing host with the help of Ad Fly and pass words has been working relatively well.
I cannot understand why, since it is a US based site, but it works.
The other one I found that works is the Russian upload provider to which the name has slipped my mind right now, but they always work, and are rarely censored.
So my best bet is Media Fire 1
The Russian site 2
Then if you really feel the need to hold onto the golden oldie Rapid Share 3 mind you I have had serious problems with them in the past as some of you old timers here might have remembered when I fought RS a few years ago for taking down all my files.
So Media Fire is the best in my PO out of all these file sharing hosts.
Oh ya and Zippy share is free and fast as well but not many people know about them so they don't get used as often.

share-online.biz is a great, fast and stable file host where even the free download is pretty fast (compared to rs) and the file limit per hour isnt that annoying.

My opinion:
1°: At least ONE file host mandatory is indispensable !!
2°: when chosen it (or them), it's indispensable that remains for a long time....
If SA is all about sharing then RS is an absolute must. If however it's about the criminal fraternity making money from software piracy, then by all means let them choose the hosters that pay them the most money.
All respect to you (dgcarter1949) as a user who tries to contribute usefully to SA, but everyone who downloads files from here (other then freeware) is a member of a "criminal fraternity" trying to make/save money from internet piracy. In the eyes of the "Law" at-least.

atleast 1 mandatory SA Team mediafire is a friendly for free users like me and the others is up to uploader anyway atleast I could share my thoughts also RS is a big no no for free users sorry for my bad english.
RS must be kept as a minimum. It has proved to be the most stable, reliable and value-for-money, at least that's my experience.

I think it's time for SA staff to make a reflexion about this. There are replies enough already to see RS is the preferred choice for most of us. So you should preserve RS as minimum.
Speed complaints are because some people don't understand that they can't have high speeds for free (not in RS, nor anywhere else). If you think a little, the price of the downloaded programs, videos, etc. is far beyond the RS fee for premium.
RS is fast, reliable and it has been online for quite years, so it's stable. When another hoster appears giving us better conditions, make the change; but for now RS keeps being the best, so, please: don't make the mistake of leaving from RS, because SA is nothing without uploaders, but nor without downloaders and visitors.
You just see things from only one point of view. Most likely you're a total downloader with a RS premium account getting various of stuff from Sa.net. However when it comes to the uploaders who bring the stuff here, you don't give a crap about them cozz you know they're going to continue uploading anyway. But what you don't get is you're not the one whose account is going to get suspended 'cause of copyrighted content and end up losing all your files. Because you're just someone that only clicks on download button, aren't you? Beleive Sa is always going to be the first choise on the web w/o you or uploaders. No nothing. What's so bad about having 3 free download options, where uploaders aren't going to get their accounts suspended. Please someone explain this to me. I get it coz you have RS premium account and forgot that you don't even care about other people who can't afford premium account anyway. When uploaders want to work with hosts that offer aff. program, they're always tagged as GREDDY. Only for one minute be neutral try to see who's being greedy and who's not.
IMHO I don't care paying RS or MF or (some cyberlocker name here)... I just would like to have to pay for ONE and not 3... So, if the uploaders do prefer one that pays more, ore more stable, or more efficient, or whatever, with me it's OK, the choice is theirs. But Please, chose ONE mandatory for all...
you are not Greedy SamuRa1 at all you are one of the best sharers on here and you deserve $ and any points for your hard efforts - I take offence to downloaders who dont appreciate the work that goes into uploading - if you just bought a premium account on a site that the uploader cant upload to any more due to copyright etc and they keep deleting there posts that Sam explains above - its not his fault - Just use one of the free mirror links or actualy buy what you wanted to d/load instead of sulking about you lost $ for a premium account

It´s a perfect idea, and i think that the PutLocker is a good choice, because he have a good speed for free downloads, and another one is Minus.

Most of people come here for Rapidshare links, remove them and lose large number visitor / downloaders. there are too many link sharing sites out there with crappy hoster links, don't make SA one of them.
As advertisements pays for Softarchive servers, less visitor = less Ad payment.
Don't let those Greedy uploaders ruin the site. NOT all of them are greedy, read the comments above and find Greedy ones.
Rapidshare is the best in sense of speed.
Uploading, Depositfile and Oron also good
provided you have the premium account.
Mediafire is good for free users.
All the new filehosting are at risk.
They might be shut down any time.
There is one thing is for sure, for large (big) files
you must have premium account, otherwise you would never
be able to download the file.
Could be good for you but is one big big damage for uploaders, i had already 3 account banned, hundreds of files deleted for copyright, free user speed around 30 kbps.
But more importante RS dont help uploaders for substain server for upload all resource for all users in SA and RS links have 99% of download respect all others our hosting added.
I can add 10 hosting different but 1 of 100 dont downlaod RS.
Ny biggest worry is the size of the files. If we are free for all in where things are posted, hopefully the file size will allow free downloads. How do you pay for 1 service if it is not sure to be there? I use RS because it is 1 that is there. No complaints. I lik ethe idea or more links.
The more I think of this, the more I feel that it's not what hoster should be mandatory, but that it should be mandatory that ALL links provided should be downloadable by free users.
None of this making 401mb links for sites that only allow 400mb downloads as a free user. Making proper sized parts that can be downloaded by all is not rocket science...
I have the utmost respect for the majority of uploaders here and am more than happy if they get some reward for their effort.

I use for uploading RS, Uploaded & Depositfile, RS & DF, These are last two months uploaded the file is immediately deleted or blocked. For Examples of playboy, X-Rated Issues Etc.

SA Team offered them three mirrors that supports free download and yet they wants more free hosts.

you know what's funny about this matter is all those downloaders check other warez sites daily to get what they don't find in SA and they don't complain about mirrors they downloaded from despite they forced to download from only one host.But we offer them 3 mirrors and yet they want more free hosts.

not like right now I am downloading a 6gb file, it's on Shareflare, the only download I could find that doesn't REQUIRE a Premium account to download.
The download is running for a whole day already @ 51kb/s, and JDownloader predicts another 26 hours to finish.
That is bloody ridiculous when I have the capacity to download at 1.68mb/s.
And before you come back crying about "if any of us tried to do what you do", I did upload stuff, but I always made damn sure people could download with decent speeds as free users.
The reason I stopped, I was uploading for around a year, and just starting to really get into it, was that Rapidshare stopped the points reward system, and I could not, and still cannot afford to buy a Premium account.

Please find a mandatory file host right away so I can subscribe and continue using Softarchive without interruption. Hopefully you will choose a service that is as dependable and well established as Rapidshare.

When i offered the sam idea everbody disagreed with me on making either Filefactory or Rapidshare mandatory + 2 free mirrors. This option makes the most sense to me. The reason why coz just like you said Filefactory has been around as long as Rs and stable. Free download speed not really bad. However people like you just manage to see the situation here. I'm just saying but what about caring about people who don't have premium accounts huh? I appreacite your comment.
well i'm not a premium because i don't as much as i use to couple years ago. if someone wants to download at higher speed, then he/she can be a premium one in filefactory. just click and wait then!!
Rapidsh is the ultimate server since the beginning of internet. No other server ever came close. Mediafir is very good too. These are the only serious servers all these years. You can choose any other server you want, but you won't see me here no more.
Uploaders, at least once in their lives, must learn to be serious persons and respect their customers.

First of all..how can the downloaders be greedy, since they don't get monetary awards (or other form of kickback) when they download anything. Please look up the word greed in the dictionary.

For the time being, the only fast and free are mediafire, zippyshare and (sometimes) rapidgator.
rapidshare, letitbit, filehost.ws, uploading.to, filefactory, depositfiles, freakshare, turbobit are just good alternatives due to speed limitations (~50kb/s) unless the file size is small (less than 50mb? I think).
SA has always been a great place, even maybe the best. But PLEASE KEEP RS which, though not perfect - and quick to erase files on 1st request (but some files are so clearly named .... )- is still a fast host, at least when one agrees to pay a small premium.
Can we afford such premium abo for 5 ... 10+ hosts, since uploaders will change every second day ? No Please, keep at least RS mandatory!

Veriety is the spice of life. Spread things out to different file hosts. The point of the whole thing is no more mandatory file hosts. Upload wherever you want. If you like Rapidshare USE IT. If you stuff is good, downloaders will use it. If your stuff is bad Downloaders won't. That will stir some competition, & and make the quality of SA better.

Since you made Rapidshare the mandatory host site my experience here had improved 1000%. It is important for me, and many others I am sure to receive files from SA quickly, and many of us have bought Rapidshare accounts so we could download fast, and also upload fast. There was a vote on who most wanted for a filesharing host, and Rapidshare won, right? Now the rest of us who bought accounts with Rapidshare for a lengthy time, will now feel as if they have wasted their money since the account may become practically useless. Many bought the accounts on the trust that Softarchive was making them their mandatory file sharing site and would not unexpectedly dump Rapidshare having changed their minds!
Free users are important people, no doubt about that, but also just as important if not just a little bit more so, is the uploader, and POSTER of the files that are linked on the Internet, and on Softarchive, for without them, the Free User has no files to download for FREE!
So far I have had very little trouble with Rapidshare, but both they and Mediafire are trying to appease the governments around the world, so they will not end up like Kim Dotcom, and Megaupload!
RS should continue to be mandatory! It is RELIABLE for so many years.
BUT:
There should be a rule stating that EVERY FILE MUST BE RENAMED TO SOMETHING ELSE, something THAT SEEMS TO BE LEGIT. It is well known that RS scans files BY THE NAME! Several sites like SA are suggesting their users to do just this:
RAR YOU FILE AND RENAME IT TO SOMETHING SIMPLE AS:
"dsxdr3456.pptx" or "proposal34234b.psd" for example,
and it will not be deleted.
Simple. Keep RS and force rename of files. That is all it is needed!
I have visited many websites like SA, but they all failed due no restriction over the filehosting rules, ended with very bad user experience.
No one will purchase 6 to 8 different filehosting accounts, at all.
I myself daily visiting SA since 6 years. SA is maintaing that 1-2 mandetory filehosting. This single rule has made SA a quality website since years.
Since you made Rapidshare the mandatory host site our experience here had improved 1000%. Please select the three file hosts and stick with them! It gets expensive to subscribe to a file host, then you don't use it and we have to subscribe to another.
Rapidshare is getting slow but its been around awhile and is reliable.
I used to have RS premium and then the preferred fileshare went to Filesonic. We all know how that turned out. Then back to RS which does have throttled download speed for free users. I currently have 3 premium accounts as a result of chasing the trend of the month. The truth is, if you don't have a premium account for the fileshare you're using there are going to be "issues". Speed, size limits, frequency limits, unreadable captha, etc. Who is the best? The one I'm using!
- All articles MUST provide minimum 3 mirrors + all of file hostings MUST support free download.
- Uploaders MUST not set download links for premium users only.
- Do not delete the old files you have uploaded to RS/MF which was posted on SA before.
I believe on-one here saying you must keep Rapidshare has read what the post involves. They're talking about giving 3 free download options rather than force everyone to buy Rapidshare premium account. What is it too hard to understand that there are people put there who couldn't afford to buy pre account monthly? Sorry by the way i'm getting greddy, I gotta stop talking.
I would like to propose what could be an alternative to all this controversy. Make a torrent and... upload it to the Pirate Bay or the site of your choice. Then make a rar or zip file to your (link), then upload this file to the file server of your choice. As a torrent link is very small you will have your file in seconds. As bit torrent links are usually very fast you will have your file as you want it with less hastle and with the advantage of using the file server of your choice. Free users of the file share sevice will have great download speed. The uploaders who pay for the service will also have great speed. So to finalize this, every body is a winner. Even SA. You go to SA to get the information that is not readily available on torrent sites and you get your speed. I'm not forgetting that you will have upload the file twice to the same and alternate servers. One will be the Torrent Link and the other the usual link. Win win.
I have an account with Rapidshare and have no problems with accessibility or download speed. The only reason download speed is dismal for some users is they are free users. Clearly one gets what one pays for.

that's bull, let uploaders upload where they want, find a good uploader and subscribe to the host he uses, I'm not going to sugest any uploaders but there are a few of them that have uploaded a couple of peta bytes of data. And when I see a post no rapid no download it's just hipocracy if you say you bought it go in the mafiaa's corner this is about free-dom.
The thing I like most about this site is the availability of RS. Mediafire is good too, but without at least one reliable service available in the USA, you will lose a lot of participants. I also use Filepost, but even their premium service sucks.
Come on, guys, just because something works for you doesn't mean it has to be MANDATORY for everybody else. Sorry if feel that you've wasted some money on a RS account but it's not SA's fault that RS is no longer reliable enough.

We must be realistic. Let happen the "Closure of Megaupload" phenomenon, by a nation believed the world owner. And did many: keep silence, to calm down things little by little we have been looking for best servers, but things have not been easy for the users. Not all have credit cards. And the attitude of Rapidshare of down the speed and then to purchase service force is the same attitude of abusive companies that take advantage of the need of customers to remove money. It may be that the Rapidshare service is good in Europe, but in America is fatal, although there was no closure of Megaupload. Force us to pay services without having the possibility to choose is not good. MediaFire at all times has been a good service without many requirements of identification, and we must not forget Shareflare, Letitbit and Vip-file, services offered with good speed without requirements. If I had to pay would pay for these 3 last, therefore have given the opportunity to those who have no access to the information, and have not been selfish or exploited.We must support those sites that share the information that is not owned nor lawyers or corporations. Imagine that the creator of this request royalties by the letters and sounds. The caverns will be our houses. Acted by US laws requires us to not use servers in that country, we support all those offering services outside of North America. Or it will be that RS is a Department of State private sector and they need to do business now.
Uploaders if you quit using the real file name. They would not get deleted so quickly.
The people who run the file servers are not stupid.

Basically in order to have a successful site, the uploaders and users should be happy.
I am sure most users are willing to sign up for a premium membership with a good file host service. It makes sense.
But I think most want "One Stop Shopping" in other words links that work with their premium membership.
So I suggest making a few filehosts mandatory otherwise the links will be all over the place.
A good filehost that serves USA as well is netload for example,filefactory is another.
Maybe a good idea to also include filehosts acronyms in heading eg Beatles - Discography RS NL FF to represent for example (rapidshare,netload,filefactory)

Rapidshare server is not place in the USA so the banned might not get to it as it's outside the USA.

i've never seen a post go so one sided before. RS is here to stay, admins, it would be wise to listen to your user base. I think every mediafire post has been voted below 0 and every pro rapishare post is in the 30-50's.

For those members who subscribe to a share service solely because it is a Softarchive mandatory site, it is unfair to periodically change hosts unless absolutely necessary. It is frustrating as well as costly to those members as well as lowering their confidence in Softarchive.

Indeed, Mediafire and Zippyshare are my favourite at the moment. Since RS reduced dl-speed for free users dramatically it just sucks. Even Oron downloads faster than RS.
Sorry but RS is dead for me. No need to keep it in the mandatory-list for me but I'd appreciate Mediafire and Zippyshare in this list as long as they offer full dl-speed even for free users.
You are right, diplodus55, RS is still stable and respectable. Nontheless are 30kb/s not really suitable to download entire dvds or even games in a reasonable time. Lately the games reach sizes of 20gb+ ... calculate yourself, how long it lasts until it's on your hdd... :-)
Yeah Rapidshare is the most respectable host on the market. I want to bring another perspective to this discussion cause all i've seen on this discussion is just RS lovers and no-one brings out anything about what Sa Team offered already. I figure you don't get what you red, obivously. Now, I'm speaking from experince:
- RS premium, stable and mosr respectable. Firstly. Users have a chance to get one month premium account so you won't lose your money in vain whereas when uploaders have some money on the account and end up getting suspended. There's no way for them to get the money apperantly. I'm speaking from experience:
- This is my 6. RS account (the most respectable one you said)
- On my first account i had 350 Euro, and suspended with no reason.
- My second RapidShare account like 500,000 points ready to convert into money. suspended with no reason.
- To make story short :D Just last week my fifth account was suspened with about 20,000 points tried contacting. No response at all.
- After the shut down that people complain about losing their money that they had already paid before what happened. I'm speaking from experience. You got a change to subscribe for one premium account, don't you? You just get to try and consider the service then.
- On filesonic, before the shut down about 300 Dolars just gone. didn't even try to get it back coz no way i could get it back.
- On oron.com 265 Dolars, Account still active but money gone :D
I'm speaking from experience and sharing what i really had to go through. And fortunately I am able to straight forward. I barely post on Softarchive and Many uploaders have already quit posting here for those who realized, for the one who use to bring really good stuff. Getting my Rapidshare account suspended doesn't even matter for me the reason why coz i use Rapidshare host, which turned to steal a bunch of money from their uploaders on here for fun. I barely post though.
If you still think Rapidshare is the most respectable business partner for "Uploaders" i wihs you good luck with it. I want to make this one my last opinion on this discussion. Regards your greedy uploader just like the other ones.

You are right, my uploading career ended when RS stopped the points system, and yes, all to one filehost, but back then, there wasn't this hoster war on uploaders and it was common practice to only put up one hoster.

VIRTUALLY ALL the others I've tried have either NOT worked as a "Free Service"... or were EXTREMELY restrictive... and I don't trust ANY of them with my $$$!!!
And I don't want to have to pay for 4-5 different services JUST to be able to download files if everyone's allowed to choose from 20+ options!

New hosters (especially those "pay per download") can't be trusted - they exist today but they can be offline the next day without any reason. Rapidshare is very slow for free users - but there are some "premium link generators" in the web, they help to get files faster than any other host which usually gives speed not faster than 50 KB/s.

please keep rapidshare and mediafire as mandatory hosts. It's essential for a minimum quality. I navigate through SA almost everyday mainly by the fact that RS links are available. Recently just bought a 6 months RS membership and have no regret.
After the fileserve/filesonic vaninshing, sites kinda SA didn't established a rule like that and lost their appeal because of the crazyness of every post shows a different host. And the majority of them with low speed. (sorry my eng.)

Having read the various U/L's comments on this page, as best as I can understand it, for some it is and for some it is not.
It seems to matter most what they U/L.
For example those that U/L mostly ebook files apparently have little or no problems.
Those who U/L serious software programs (e.g. M$ OS's) have major problems.
This is just two examples and please if anyone thinks I've got this all wrong then correct me. Don't just leave an anon. minus (or do, your choice).
RS is good,please keep it and don't forget DEPOSITFILES

The thing is, SA admins are telling us that it is because they listen to "our members" but they failed to inform us who these members are or were they did inform them. Did they fill in some questionnaire or survey? I just think that it is becuase they will make more cash. I have always looked for stable servers and RS is one of them. I will definitely not fork out money for a million servers. The servers will loose, and everyone will loose.

The popular ones that block USA IP's however it's possible for USA users to download from those hosts if you make a quick google search how to do that. It's too much to do for some users though. Whatever we offer here has gotta be accesible for everyone i think.

This is hard to say and arguably it'll never end. Sometimes its fair to premium downloaders and unfair to free downloaders, this also apply to uploaders. When I first joined SA in 2009, RS was there and both parties enjoyed RS services. When RS policy changes, uploader suffered first hand.
What can I said more? Therefore uploader changed hoster, I'm still following for awhile then leave the scene. After the hoster's fiasco this early year, everything was in turmoil, disarray. When I check-in SA again, RS still live. I'm so happy I still keep my RS account. But I lost 5 other premium accounts out of the blue for nothing. It seem to me there weren't any problems to premium users of late but its another story to free users. So the story goes like this, since much of the popular hosters were down and RS is still up and running. Then those free users turned to RS instantaneously. With such large influx of free users toward RS which almost bought RS down and out for good. It seem unfair to premium users from RS point of view during that time so RS changed its policy and services again and this truly hurt free users.
But this policy changes also affect and hurt uploaders. I can't commend on that.
In conclusion, I think RS is going to stay in SA for sure and the rest options are open to uploaders. But please do keep RS even in mirror for whatever will changed in SA in near future. My best regards to uploaders of SA. Long live SA.
There's another slight problem here. If Mediafire and such like continue to suspend accounts with no clear reasons, and we are lumped with whatever is chosen, that means we may have no choice but to pay for services from those filehosts. The problem is then two-fold. It is not just a financial concern, it's also the hope that you are actually getting what you hope to download. Obviously this is a multicultural website. There are many people from different countries who speak different languages, and posting links to programs that use those languages (as well as those that are not their own). I have downloaded some programs that claim to be able to operate in English, but have ended up in French for instance. I'm not learning French EVER. I had enough of that at school thanks. I would be more than a little annoyed at having to pay to find out that the program I download - which a poster indicates runs in English - does not run in English.
Choose the filehosts, sure, but for Goodness sake can we get posters to make sure that they make absolutely clear what language software runs in? I don't want to pay to download something that I can't use!
SA team, you are the best! keep going, no matter it's RS or not, there would be some number supporters behind you, no matter what, we come here because you and your style, not just for the RS, the RS is somewhat the oldest and most reliable but if they keep suspending the accounts from the uploader, that host doesn't mean very much reliable for the availbility of the file

See, that is another reason SA is dying for me, why I couldn't be bothered in the least to try and upload. I try to upload a little fun thing, that I could just as easily link from my own webspace, as there is NOTHING illegal about it, and some Overlord comes in a deletes it with giving an ACTUAL reason!!!

You got to be INTELLIGENT: If you use a file name like: "windows 7" for your files, YOU WILL GET DELETED OR BLOCKED!!!! . Start using encrypted rar or 7z files, with some cryptic name, can be anything like "87uyrttr_part01.rar"
USE YOUR HEAD AND GIVE US BACK RS & MF: Get it in your head: No RS or mediafire, NO download, back to torrents or some other DOWNLOADER friendly site.

As soon as I do subscribe to one, someone will start using some other. I'm not pushing for any specific site, just some consistent site to subscribe to. Thanks for listening.
Just my opinion, but don't buy a subscription until SA tell us their new rules (should be in next 10 days, IMHO better they make a good decision then a fast one)
Also no one knows when FBI or other agency will take down some filehost or another, so I wouldn't recommend buying a years subscription, one to six months seems safer.
When I joined SA it was mandatory that RS be used - I totally get you want to let other sharers use different services, but given the majority of us followed your rules and subscribed to RS - it should be mandatory to post with it as 1 of the 3 minimum hosts. You cannot keep changing your mind simply because free users get slow speeds. Der- thats the point of ALL hosts to give free users slow speeds - it makes them join/subscribe.
If you are going to change this again - you will LOSE a lot of your long-term & loyal members - for what? A few free users ho are too cheap to buy a subscription?
PS: You also stated that a reason for changing is RS were closing some accounts - could it be that the users having their accounts closed were putting the movie titles in the file names? Doesn't everyone know that all hosting services run filename searches looking for movies that breach copyright etc? If posters were made post files in coded filenams etc without movie titles in the name then these mass searches wouldf be unable to find the users. People need to start thinking smarter about this. I have noticed that files posted ages ago with 1213 style filenames are still valid today - yet posts with the full title get deleted within 24-48 hrs. This applies to ALL hosters as well - noty just RS. They do this to appease the law - and justify their existence.

Just a warning: RAPIDGATOR is a scum:
- downloads just don't work. For a week I got 2 successful downloads from them.
- rapidgator doesn't work with any automatic file downloader. This means you have to download every single link by clicking it.
- all you get for your money is "500 Server Error" od "Session expire" errors
- if you want yout money back, as the service sucks, you get informed that: "Dear customer, Unfortunately, we don't refund if you changed your mind, didn't use rapidgator service, didn't meet your expectations, didn't undestand or something else like this. If you still have any inquiries, please contact us."

I'm with ElQuia. No more downloads from SA. I peek in to see whats new then search elsewhere for RS download and have found one everytime. The quality of uploads has greatly dropped. SA used to be a great site, but the "Team" has really tanked the site this time.

It seems that most uploaders are using RapidGator, Letitbit and ShareFlare? Letitbit and ShareFlare only allow you to download one file per day even if the file is only a few hundred k, and RapidGator has a daily limit too! These restrictions are obviously designed to get downloaders to pay!
i agreed with dmc, ShareFlare free download doesn't even work after going thru all the ads and when you enter the correct capcha it will return unknown error. RapidGator forever telling i have downloaded file, even it was a failed download due to the connection error.
There is a problem with RAPIDGATOR and UPLOADED and credit cards, they do not support anymore paypal and now visa,madtercard and amxpress have some issue with them here in the USA. I will advise to move out of this file sharing and fiend some that allow us to paid for them.
People are continuum using RAPIDGATOR and UPLOADED, this to companies have issues with Paypal and credit cards.
Their use here is bad, due that the majority user paid for premium services,whe must use companies that support Paypal or at least don't have issues with credit cards.

I have used RS since 2008 or 2009. I also used FS until a few months ago. For me RS was always stable and reliable. I agree that RS should be the minimum mandatory and then the rest left to the uploader. Having a 100 file hosts will only complicate things for everyone as it will be harder to choose a good one. And free downloads from these hosts suck nowadays with speed limit
I agree, having used rapidshare before, then moved to filesonic (and we know what happened there) and now back to rapidshare. Maybe they don't give as generous an incentive for uploaders, but at least as a downloader I know what I'm getting. Don't have to jump through "adfly" hoops, and spamers. Rapidshare is what sets softarchive apart from the sites that that you have to sift through 30 links to find one that works!
The uploaders at softarhive that use rapidshare CARE about the community!!

I think the majority of your users assume your proposal will improve availability and transfer speeds but this may not be the case. Why not ask established providers like RS etc why they impose these retrictions to better understand their problems and seek their proposals on how it could be improved before you loose them. If someone their the size resorts to speed restrictions, smaller providers will simply crumble under the same levels of bandwidth demand. Aslo many of your subscribers have long term commitments to these file hosts to obtain economies of scale.

What i like about this site is a mirror link which should be available to all posts.But i really mean all posts.No matter if it is rs or MF.Just a filehoster which should be availalable for all articles.I have seen many sites that were promoting different filehosters so even if one could get a premmium account some links still can not be obtained.

RS & MF should be kept mandatory! If download speed is slow for free RS then BUY your fair share of bandwidth. Nothing is free in this world. It costs RS & MF money to keep the bandwidth throttle at full afterburner for paying customers.

but at least RS doesn't crash after you've spent three hours downloading a file (ridiculously slow download speed) only to have an error message at the end (as several of the mirrors have done to me lately)....I like MediaFire too, very stable and not so slow.
On your advice over the last couple of years I have boughty premium accounts with FileServe, Filesonic, HotFile, and RS. The first two quit hosting downloads and HotFile almost never appears as download option. Only RS remains as mandatory and now you are doing away with that. I am tired of buying premium accounts on your advice, only to have them disappear. I have been using SoftArchive for a long time and intend to keep using it, but would appreciate some consideration. Cant have every uploader choosing they own little unknown uploaders.
this will just cause chaos and support will fade.
One reputable file host eg Netload,Filepost,Extabit etc should be mandatory.
extabit block downloads for free users on files above 400mb, and that is pretty shitty. my opinion.
Wonderful idea. I found some of the File host offer "Free" download & when you click the link, wait for the download to start, a message pops up stating you have used your free down load, Bullshit, never downloaded before. So good for you guys.

It's a kind of joke? RAPIDSHARE is top speed download and no hassle. Please shell out the bit of money and buy a premium account. If you want to save and also help the uploader buy from them the rapids (usually a 50% discount)....
a lot of us were stung last time with rapidsh!t we bought premium and they shut the door. so not going to happen twice. i don't mind using it as a free DL for very small files ie less than 15Mb.
I like the idea of multi hosts as I can dl from multiple different hosts at the same time. this obviates the speed restrictions.
It is still early days after the megaup load fiasco. This solution is good until such time as the euro hosts improve their service. R'gator is a good example. They have under gone upgreades, though they still need to improve more. Others continue to improve.
The continued uncertainty in the hosts stability, however, suggests we should not commit to any single host yet.
Rapidshare is the best and I have had no issues with it ... Please keep RS as mandatory.

I simply see something interesting here, and then look on the Internet for the torrent and continue from there.
So what are you going to do when one day you get a letter from your Interent service provider with information that you had been sued for downloading of illegal content. And they come up with the list what you downloaded in last two years? Grow up or pay the price man!

MF is the best! In terms of what? Crappy upload speed. Almost suspend every account that involve copyrighted content. Pretty much no-one uses it around but it's mandatory. What kind of sense does it make to you? I'm having hard time understanding this. RS is not any better. They suspend accounts, free download speed sucks. Ahh, I forgot it's realible right. But just for you coz you click on download and get stuff.

I don't understand how anyone without premium account can expect to download any decent amount of whatever content you provide. Now when we established the fact that YOU HAVE TO PAY for premium account or else you are screwed, of all these available (I tried them few) only worth having is RS. And as someone here mentioned already, that was the only reason I come here religiously. If RS is gone as mandatory uploaders will not upload there but to some shity hosters because they want their points or whatever else they get for the number of downloads.
Personally I am not going to waste time on any board where there are no RS links. So goodbye SOFTARCHIVE! It was a pleasure while it lasted :(

This is one of two sites I use. I purchase my filehost subscription monthly to make sure that I am able to download where I want. If you change the site not to have a mandatory filehost, I think you will kill your site. You need to have at least one host that your traffic can count on. If not it will get fragmented and people won't bother any longer. I currently prefer Rapidshare because I just reupped, but at the worst I loose a month. After having long time subscriptions and the sites getting closed by governments or other reasons I will no longer subscribe to anything more than a month, so please just make sure there is something we can count on.

The only services there seems to be a problem with, sooner or later, are the ones that pay the uploaders, so those should be avoided.

Sorry but SA team is thinking about leaving the complete choice of the cyberlocker to the uploaders. And I don't think uploaders will choose RapidShare as one of the three.

Il punto non è QUALE host, ma il fatto di averne UNO obbligatorio per tutti (rapidshare, mediafire, ecc.). Se ogni uploader ne sceglie 3 diversi dei centinaia a disposizione nessuno farà più utenze premium e che softarchive perderà i visitatori. Gli utenti stanno chiedendo di mantenere rapidshare perchè è quello per cui hanno già pagato. L'uploader riceve da rapidshare dei rapids che può rivendere. Io stesso compro sempre i miei abbonamenti premium dagli uploader.

Personalmente non mi interessa che servizio di uploading venga scelto, l'importante è che ce ne sia UNO fisso per tutti. Secondo me SA dovrebbe chiedere a VOI uploaders quale preferite (sondaggio? votazione?). Per me pagare rapidshare o mediafire o easybytes o ddlstorage è assolutamente indifferente (l'importante è che sia compatibile con jdownloader :). Chiaro che se devo comprare account premium per 3 o 4 host la cosa cambia.

Must agree with most of the comments .. RS has been the most stable and haven't had any problems with it. Add other hosts but keep Rapidshare.
Rapid and Mediafire is good!
How about ifile? They allow free users parallel downloads and the speed isn't too bad. Many sites I visit are using them.

You really need to keep rapid share links I am fed with buying access to file hosts only to have them go down the drain. It seems Rapidshare is staying and its been around a long time you must keep it.
Why does´t start softarchive not self a file-hosting services free for softarchive members and pay service for non members than there is no hassle with other sh*t file-hosting services that does not work properly

just don't buy life or yearly subscriptions, and as a free user 3 links is great, a bigger file just download 3 links from 3 hosts wait an hour and get the rest, mediafire has started deleting multiple accounts not just files, rs is doing the same + has terrible speed for free users, having them as mandatory is pointless, the rules are good a minimum of 3 links on whatever site the uploader wants. Premium users can buy a service on the most popular host, free users can have a choice.
RS, Filefactory and Rapidgator seems like three good choices to me
also want tel about depositfiles. I create acc and after 1 month they block it, dont pay me (send me letter that i use files that protected DCMA... bla bla...)
Please keep RS, its fast, secure and isnt blocked or downed by traffic shaping from the bigger internetproviders like many others.

It's not about RS or MF,it's about Softarchive itself.
Since the new rules forced all uploaders to mirror their files to RS or MF,the content of the site has decreased.
Many great uploaders have left the site and stopped to upload for it for simple reason,it's not fair to upload my files and waste my time for free just to make softarchive (or any other site) members and visitors happy.
Any uploader here -as SpecialOnE has mentioned - has to pay for his tools like the server he use or premium accounts he buy.
So,for every one who wants RS or MF,I have some few words to say,
You come here every day and download whatever you want for free without paying any cent.At least you shoud be grateful to this guy who brings you these new softwares and warez DVDs.otherwise you should buy it and cost yourself hundreds of dollars every day.
Please SA Team,respect what those uploaders offer to you and to your site every day and do not listen to those who wants to forced the uploaders to waste their time for free because you know that will affect SA negatively,and we do love Softarchive and we hope it will last forever,but we have to accept one real fact,Live never gives a man any thing for free.

People have over the years been doing this for free, just because they liked being helpful and share programs/movies/music with each other. Back when it started, getting connection to the new was more difficult and was costing way more then it is today, but no one complained because they enjoyed doing ti so much.
The some filehosts started to give kickbacks and affiliate programs for people who shared files through them. This started to spread like wildfire amongst every pimplefaced snotty scriptkiddie on the block. "Hey we can make some money dude!"
Getting a connection these days and a premium hosts account costs peanuts compared to what just the connection did 10-20 years ago. Yet, here you sit and complain....boo hoo....someone else won't pay my bills. If you can't afford it, then find something else to do!

I vote for keeping Rapidshare here. We must have a stable site. Even if it decreases the submissions at least you can obtain the files. This sounds like a commercial fight of other filehosters for the business.
Filefactory, Megadownload stopped there service due to legal reasons whereas RS has a better legal team and has been able to maintain there operation and remain the most stable and the other filehosters are just trying to take the business over

RS was my first choice and so I gladly paid for premium service but I was unaware that recently they had been throwing people off. Extabit works well enough, but for those of us who pay to use Extabit Premium by the number of files downloaded, it helps if uploaders can put up a couple of large files instead of 10 small files for the same item.
Mostly I hope uploaders remain aware that many of the file hosting services are NOT available in the U.S. :-[

The answer is, of course, Softarchive's owners.
So which group from above should they look after?
Having a multitude of hosts isn't practical for anyone, unless you are an uploader and spread your files far and wide but even then, consolidating your files and having one host means you will make more money.
My choice after losing accounts with RS, HF, Fileserve is MyDownloader. You have multiple premium accounts and only pay for one subscription.
SA should encourage the use of it for downloaders and request uploaders to use only hosts available to mydownloader.
Rapidshare is perfect! Mediafire is pretty good too! I bought 6 months of account RS. It is very fast and stable. Others are not stable and free version ends up being as bad as RS, if not worse! I love softarchive.net. I stopped visiting this site after the disappearance of RS when they came to a daily download quotas. Please do not change, because many people can stop to visit this magnificent site.

For me Filehost or Gigabase would be good choice's (or even Depositfiles because I find some 3 of 4 year old links to them are still live.)
But if they cause problems for Uploaders then then they are no use.
There must be other options then hosts that suspend U/Lers whole accounts if they find one illegal file, no matter how fast they are. And talking to them wouldn't help.
Anyway, thank you to S/A for again giving users some input and to the 95% of the U/Lders for your good work's.

Pay 3 Month for Rapidshare, compared to others: Working stable and smooth. If you drop RS as primary and mandatory FileHoster, then you are going to loose a lot of members. :-/ All others Addtional FileHoster are welcome. Maybe one suggestion: FilePost.com is not so bad after all as a Backup. But I suggest as a backup MediaFire. My 2cents ...

It isn't going to make any difference if posters keep tagging their posts with softarchive.net and using the full name, they are just making it easy for the hosters to find their files and delete them. Personally, it is rapidshare or nothing. Too many of the hosters block access to certain areas and others are so slow they are worthless. I try to support the posters here by downloading from their links, but I can always go elsewhere.

The only reason me and a lot of my friends visiting here is RS links. Never faced slowness nor deleted files in the past 3 months with Rapidshare.

Perhaps this caused some trouble.
MF and RS are the ONLY reliable hoster we had seen after all that trouble happened.
This hoster roulette sucks , until it is fine to see some other hoster links additional.

Most of this pop upped filehoster will disappear sooner or later anyway.

I would like to add my two sentc.
RS has always worked well for me, especially mutilink downloads using IDM etc. I nearly alway use the other providers unless I do not have account with those posted fileshares, that is when I go to RS as the last resort. Not because there is any problem or being slow, just to spread the download bites etc.

I think Rapidshare is still ok for files up to 100mb, 300mb if the uploaded parts are split into 29mb parts, giving 11 links, but that at full speed.

Everyone must keep in mind that the software, music, in fact every file on this site is worth a lot of money, especially some of the software and it's offered for FREE. I think RS is the best and most stable with the ability to pickup broken files if you have a drop out. The reason for me to come here every day was because of the RS links.
If poster would not use name of file. They would not be deleted as often from servers

That's a very good idea mate. I've been using Premium RS, Exta & Leti for such a long time now. RS was my favourite because of reliable copy and paste in IDM while the others I have to download from Exta & Leti website.
I never had issue with RS as long as the name of products are not in the download links otherwise the links will not last.

I have used many file sharing host providers over the times, but I have began to notice that Rapidshare is slowing down again even if your a pro member.
File Sonic and Hotfile are gone.
There are still a few that work a bit better, but not many people use them so they kind of fade in and out when it comes to variety.
The one that I have really noticed over the last 2 years and its free is Media Fire.
This file sharing host with the help of Ad Fly and pass words has been working relatively well.
I cannot understand why, since it is a US based site, but it works.
The other one I found that works is the Russian upload provider to which the name has slipped my mind right now, but they always work, and are rarely censored.
So my best bet is Media Fire 1

Then if you really feel the need to hold onto the golden oldie Rapid Share 3 mind you I have had serious problems with them in the past as some of you old timers here might have remembered when I fought RS a few years ago for taking down all my files.
So Media Fire is the best in my PO out of all these file sharing hosts.
Oh ya and Zippy share is free and fast as well but not many people know about them so they don't get used as often.

I think it's time for SA staff to make a reflexion about this. There are replies enough already to see RS is the preferred choice for most of us. So you should preserve RS as minimum.
Speed complaints are because some people don't understand that they can't have high speeds for free (not in RS, nor anywhere else). If you think a little, the price of the downloaded programs, videos, etc. is far beyond the RS fee for premium.
RS is fast, reliable and it has been online for quite years, so it's stable. When another hoster appears giving us better conditions, make the change; but for now RS keeps being the best, so, please: don't make the mistake of leaving from RS, because SA is nothing without uploaders, but nor without downloaders and visitors.
You just see things from only one point of view. Most likely you're a total downloader with a RS premium account getting various of stuff from Sa.net. However when it comes to the uploaders who bring the stuff here, you don't give a crap about them cozz you know they're going to continue uploading anyway. But what you don't get is you're not the one whose account is going to get suspended 'cause of copyrighted content and end up losing all your files. Because you're just someone that only clicks on download button, aren't you? Beleive Sa is always going to be the first choise on the web w/o you or uploaders. No nothing. What's so bad about having 3 free download options, where uploaders aren't going to get their accounts suspended. Please someone explain this to me. I get it coz you have RS premium account and forgot that you don't even care about other people who can't afford premium account anyway. When uploaders want to work with hosts that offer aff. program, they're always tagged as GREDDY. Only for one minute be neutral try to see who's being greedy and who's not.

Could be good for you but is one big big damage for uploaders, i had already 3 account banned, hundreds of files deleted for copyright, free user speed around 30 kbps.
But more importante RS dont help uploaders for substain server for upload all resource for all users in SA and RS links have 99% of download respect all others our hosting added.
I can add 10 hosting different but 1 of 100 dont downlaod RS.

Ny biggest worry is the size of the files. If we are free for all in where things are posted, hopefully the file size will allow free downloads. How do you pay for 1 service if it is not sure to be there? I use RS because it is 1 that is there. No complaints. I lik ethe idea or more links.

The more I think of this, the more I feel that it's not what hoster should be mandatory, but that it should be mandatory that ALL links provided should be downloadable by free users.
None of this making 401mb links for sites that only allow 400mb downloads as a free user. Making proper sized parts that can be downloaded by all is not rocket science...

I use for uploading RS, Uploaded & Depositfile, RS & DF, These are last two months uploaded the file is immediately deleted or blocked. For Examples of playboy, X-Rated Issues Etc.

not like right now I am downloading a 6gb file, it's on Shareflare, the only download I could find that doesn't REQUIRE a Premium account to download.
The download is running for a whole day already @ 51kb/s, and JDownloader predicts another 26 hours to finish.
That is bloody ridiculous when I have the capacity to download at 1.68mb/s.
And before you come back crying about "if any of us tried to do what you do", I did upload stuff, but I always made damn sure people could download with decent speeds as free users.
The reason I stopped, I was uploading for around a year, and just starting to really get into it, was that Rapidshare stopped the points reward system, and I could not, and still cannot afford to buy a Premium account.

Rapidsh is the ultimate server since the beginning of internet. No other server ever came close. Mediafir is very good too. These are the only serious servers all these years. You can choose any other server you want, but you won't see me here no more.

The problem with that is, nobody here ever used Megaupload, I also said that in the release comments a few times, but obviously uploaders didn't care.

For the time being, the only fast and free are mediafire, zippyshare and (sometimes) rapidgator.
rapidshare, letitbit, filehost.ws, uploading.to, filefactory, depositfiles, freakshare, turbobit are just good alternatives due to speed limitations (~50kb/s) unless the file size is small (less than 50mb? I think).

SA has always been a great place, even maybe the best. But PLEASE KEEP RS which, though not perfect - and quick to erase files on 1st request (but some files are so clearly named .... )- is still a fast host, at least when one agrees to pay a small premium.

Torrents is the best option.
Veriety is the spice of life. Spread things out to different file hosts. The point of the whole thing is no more mandatory file hosts. Upload wherever you want. If you like Rapidshare USE IT. If you stuff is good, downloaders will use it. If your stuff is bad Downloaders won't. That will stir some competition, & and make the quality of SA better.

Since you made Rapidshare the mandatory host site my experience here had improved 1000%. It is important for me, and many others I am sure to receive files from SA quickly, and many of us have bought Rapidshare accounts so we could download fast, and also upload fast. There was a vote on who most wanted for a filesharing host, and Rapidshare won, right? Now the rest of us who bought accounts with Rapidshare for a lengthy time, will now feel as if they have wasted their money since the account may become practically useless. Many bought the accounts on the trust that Softarchive was making them their mandatory file sharing site and would not unexpectedly dump Rapidshare having changed their minds!
Free users are important people, no doubt about that, but also just as important if not just a little bit more so, is the uploader, and POSTER of the files that are linked on the Internet, and on Softarchive, for without them, the Free User has no files to download for FREE!
So far I have had very little trouble with Rapidshare, but both they and Mediafire are trying to appease the governments around the world, so they will not end up like Kim Dotcom, and Megaupload!

BUT:
There should be a rule stating that EVERY FILE MUST BE RENAMED TO SOMETHING ELSE, something THAT SEEMS TO BE LEGIT. It is well known that RS scans files BY THE NAME! Several sites like SA are suggesting their users to do just this:
RAR YOU FILE AND RENAME IT TO SOMETHING SIMPLE AS:
"dsxdr3456.pptx" or "proposal34234b.psd" for example,
and it will not be deleted.
Simple. Keep RS and force rename of files. That is all it is needed!

Please select the three file hosts and stick with them! It gets expensive to subscribe to a file host, then you don't use it and we have to subscribe to another.
Rapidshare is getting slow but its been around awhile and is reliable.
I used to have RS premium and then the preferred fileshare went to Filesonic. We all know how that turned out. Then back to RS which does have throttled download speed for free users. I currently have 3 premium accounts as a result of chasing the trend of the month. The truth is, if you don't have a premium account for the fileshare you're using there are going to be "issues". Speed, size limits, frequency limits, unreadable captha, etc. Who is the best? The one I'm using!
Free users have very slow speed downloading files, for RS.

For Video files I'm downloading from some streaming sites, so I can boost the download speed.
For a lot of hostsites with free account, download accelerators don't work with.

They're talking about giving 3 free download options rather than force everyone to buy Rapidshare premium account. I would like to propose what could be an alternative to all this controversy. Make a torrent and... upload it to the Pirate Bay or the site of your choice. Then make a rar or zip file to your (link), then upload this file to the file server of your choice. As a torrent link is very small you will have your file in seconds. As bit torrent links are usually very fast you will have your file as you want it with less hastle and with the advantage of using the file server of your choice. Free users of the file share sevice will have great download speed. The uploaders who pay for the service will also have great speed. So to finalize this, every body is a winner. Even SA. You go to SA to get the information that is not readily available on torrent sites and you get your speed. I'm not forgetting that you will have upload the file twice to the same and alternate servers. One will be the Torrent Link and the other the usual link. Win win.

I have an account with Rapidshare and have no problems with accessibility or download speed. The only reason download speed is dismal for some users is they are free users. Clearly one gets what one pays for.

The thing I like most about this site is the availability of RS. Mediafire is good too, but without at least one reliable service available in the USA, you will lose a lot of participants. I also use Filepost, but even their premium service sucks.

And did many: keep silence, to calm down things little by little we have been looking for best servers, but things have not been easy for the users. Not all have credit cards. And the attitude of Rapidshare of down the speed and then to purchase service force is the same attitude of abusive companies that take advantage of the need of customers to remove money. It may be that the Rapidshare service is good in Europe, but in America is fatal, although there was no closure of Megaupload. Force us to pay services without having the possibility to choose is not good. MediaFire at all times has been a good service without many requirements of identification, and we must not forget Shareflare, Letitbit and Vip-file, services offered with good speed without requirements. If I had to pay would pay for these 3 last, therefore have given the opportunity to those who have no access to the information, and have not been selfish or exploited.We must support those sites that share the information that is not owned nor lawyers or corporations. Imagine that the creator of this request royalties by the letters and sounds. The caverns will be our houses. Acted by US laws requires us to not use servers in that country, we support all those offering services outside of North America. Uploaders if you quit using the real file name. They would not get deleted so quickly.

Basically in order to have a successful site, the uploaders and users should be happy.
I am sure most users are willing to sign up for a premium membership with a good file host service. It makes sense.
But I think most want "One Stop Shopping" in other words links that work with their premium membership.
So I suggest making a few filehosts mandatory otherwise the links will be all over the place.
A good filehost that serves USA as well is netload for example,filefactory is another.
Maybe a good idea to also include filehosts acronyms in heading eg Beatles - Discography RS NL FF to represent for example (rapidshare,netload,filefactory)

Rapidshare server is not place in the USA so the banned might not get to it as it's outside the USA.

For those members who subscribe to a share service solely because it is a Softarchive mandatory site, it is unfair to periodically change hosts unless absolutely necessary. It is frustrating as well as costly to those members as well as lowering their confidence in Softarchive.
A suggestion: Instead of eliminating RS as a mandatory site, why not just keep RS and add a second mandatory site.

Indeed, Mediafire and Zippyshare are my favourite at the moment. Since RS reduced dl-speed for free users dramatically it just sucks. Even Oron downloads faster than RS.

You are right, diplodus55, RS is still stable and respectable. Nontheless are 30kb/s not really suitable to download entire dvds or even games in a reasonable time. Lately the games reach sizes of 20gb+ ... calculate yourself, how long it lasts until it's on your hdd... :-)

Yeah Rapidshare is the most respectable host on the market. I want to bring another perspective to this discussion cause all i've seen on this discussion is just RS lovers and no-one brings out anything about what Sa Team offered already. I figure you don't get what you red, obivously. Now, I'm speaking from experince:
- RS premium, stable and mosr respectable. Firstly. Users have a chance to get one month premium account so you won't lose your money in vain whereas when uploaders have some money on the account and end up getting suspended. There's no way for them to get the money apperantly. I'm speaking from experience:
- This is my 6. RS account (the most respectable one you said)
- On my first account i had 350 Euro, and suspended with no reason.
- My second RapidShare account like 500,000 points ready to convert into money. suspended with no reason.
- To make story short :D Just last week my fifth account was suspened with about 20,000 points tried contacting. No response at all.
- After the shut down that people complain about losing their money that they had already paid before what happened. I'm speaking from experience. You got a change to subscribe for one premium account, don't you? You just get to try and consider the service then.
- On filesonic, before the shut down about 300 Dolars just gone. didn't even try to get it back coz no way i could get it back.
- On oron.com 265 Dolars, Account still active but money gone :D
I'm speaking from experience and sharing what i really had to go through. And fortunately I am able to straight forward. I barely post on Softarchive and Many uploaders have already quit posting here for those who realized, for the one who use to bring really good stuff. Getting my Rapidshare account suspended doesn't even matter for me the reason why coz i use Rapidshare host, which turned to steal a bunch of money from their uploaders on here for fun. I barely post though.

However, what I also said in my uploader blog was perhaps I should have written it differently, but what you can't read from that is that I had a really small upload bandwidth at the time, under 50kb/s.
Had that not been the case, and the points system had not gone bye-bye, I'd probably still be uploading today.
I hope I have satisfactorily replied to your comments, if not, well, you were only expressing an opinion to which you are entitled, but at least you are mature enough not to have to resort to name-calling as the previous poster did.

So maybe - All articles MUST provide RS link + minimum 2 mirrors + all of file hostings MUST support free download.
- Uploaders MUST not set download links for premium users only.
- Do not delete the old files you have uploaded to RS/MF which was posted on SA before.
(untill new mandatory list is decided when/if things settle)
And when RS downloaders see how many files are being deleated and U/L's accounts are terminated due to violating their "terms of service" maybe they will begin to see the bigger picture.
Have none of you read their terms of service or their Anti-Piracy Manifesto ? Both uploaders and downloaders accounts can and are terminated just for complaints....no proof nessasery.
Not to mention how many U/L'ers will get brassed of with U/L'ing to Cyberlockers that dick them around and go elsewere to U/L.
And so everyone knows what a hypocrite I am, I get at least 20% of my downloads (in number not size) from RS.

VIRTUALLY ALL the others I've tried have either NOT worked as a "Free Service"... or were EXTREMELY restrictive... and I don't trust ANY of them with my $$$!!!
And I don't want to have to pay for 4-5 different services JUST to be able to download files if everyone's allowed to choose from 20+ options!

New hosters (especially those "pay per download") can't be trusted - they exist today but they can be offline the next day without any reason. Rapidshare is very slow for free users - but there are some "premium link generators" in the web, they help to get files faster than any other host which usually gives speed not faster than 50 KB/s.
rapidshare works great for me also, i hope it is kept as one of the options for download

please keep rapidshare and mediafire as mandatory hosts. It's essential for a minimum quality. I navigate through SA almost everyday mainly by the fact that RS links are available. Recently just bought a 6 months RS membership and have no regret.
After the fileserve/filesonic vaninshing, sites kinda SA didn't established a rule like that and lost their appeal because of the crazyness of every post shows a different host. And the majority of them with low speed. (sorry my eng.)

Having read the various U/L's comments on this page, as best as I can understand it, for some it is and for some it is not.
It seems to matter most what they U/L.
For example those that U/L mostly ebook files apparently have little or no problems.
Those who U/L serious software programs (e.g. M$ OS's) have major problems.
This is just two examples and please if anyone thinks I've got this all wrong then correct me. Don't just leave an anon. minus (or do, your choice).

But head up, SA is doing the right things, balancing between Downloaders and Uploaders demands. It's not easy
P/s : From 31 May, RS pay nothing for uploaders. They change their rules ... again.
The thing is, SA admins are telling us that it is because they listen to "our members" but they failed to inform us who these members are or were they did inform them. Did they fill in some questionnaire or survey? I just think that it is becuase they will make more cash. I have always looked for stable servers and RS is one of them. I will definitely not fork out money for a million servers. The servers will loose, and everyone will loose.
the major point is the uploaders are getting there files deleted and they are refusing to upload to a file host that is not reliable and if there not here you will have nothing to sulk about because there will be no files to download - and @a123a below what are you ? a salesman for RS If your RapidShare is so fantastic tell them to stop deleting members files

It has been a week ...
RS Rules for me now.
This is hard to say and arguably it'll never end. Sometimes its fair to premium downloaders and unfair to free downloaders, this also apply to uploaders. When I first joined SA in 2009, RS was there and both parties enjoyed RS services. When RS policy changes, uploader suffered first hand.
What can I said more? Therefore uploader changed hoster, I'm still following for awhile then leave the scene. After the hoster's fiasco this early year, everything was in turmoil, disarray. When I check-in SA again, RS still live. I'm so happy I still keep my RS account. But I lost 5 other premium accounts out of the blue for nothing. It seem to me there weren't any problems to premium users of late but its another story to free users. So the story goes like this, since much of the popular hosters were down and RS is still up and running. Then those free users turned to RS instantaneously. With such large influx of free users toward RS which almost bought RS down and out for good. It seem unfair to premium users from RS point of view during that time so RS changed its policy and services again and this truly hurt free users.
But this policy changes also affect and hurt uploaders. I can't commend on that.
In conclusion, I think RS is going to stay in SA for sure and the rest options are open to uploaders. But please do keep RS even in mirror for whatever will changed in SA in near future. My best regards to uploaders of SA. Long live SA.

There's another slight problem here. If Mediafire and such like continue to suspend accounts with no clear reasons, and we are lumped with whatever is chosen, that means we may have no choice but to pay for services from those filehosts. The problem is then two-fold. It is not just a financial concern, it's also the hope that you are actually getting what you hope to download. Obviously this is a multicultural website. There are many people from different countries who speak different languages, and posting links to programs that use those languages (as well as those that are not their own). I have downloaded some programs that claim to be able to operate in English, but have ended up in French for instance. I'm not learning French EVER. I had enough of that at school thanks. I would be more than a little annoyed at having to pay to find out that the program I download - which a poster indicates runs in English - does not run in English.
Choose the filehosts, sure, but for Goodness sake can we get posters to make sure that they make absolutely clear what language software runs in? I don't want to pay to download something that I can't use!

Does RS require painful sign up routine ?
Uploaders who just want to share can still use RS with no other links if they like.
It asked me to sign up when I tried to upload at RS.

See, that is another reason SA is dying for me, why I couldn't be bothered in the least to try and upload. I try to upload a little fun thing, that I could just as easily link from my own webspace, as there is NOTHING illegal about it, and some Overlord comes in a deletes it with giving an ACTUAL reason!!!
And yet I see daily posts in sections they don't belong in which I report - nothing done about it, uploads that have dead links, which I report - nothing done about it, jackasses uploading and posting huge (read, several GB's in size) uploads with Premium ONLY links, and some extremely slow RS ones which I report - nothing done.
Need I go on...
I mostly don't download from here anymore anyway, I come in, browse what's available, and when I see something I like, I go look for an actual download elsewhere that gives links for free users with decent speeds/do NOT require Premium accounts.
And only then if I cannot find any other download possibilities, do I chance downloading from SA.
As of today, whoever the System Overlord was that killed my post stating "not allowed within rules", without even giving me a hint at what rule I am supposed to have broken, CAN KISS MY ASS...!!!
And don't worry System Overlord, I will NEVER even think about posting anything here ever again. If I ever have something I want to upload and release, I will find another site to do so.

This decision of non-obligatory RS+MF is a complete disaster. 90% of the people here wants back RS+MF mandatory. SA will become another Avaxhome? Gfxtra? Heroturko? Gfxworld? Where each post have a different host. Zillions of weak hosts, long wait times and so on....
Hope SA could come back with RS+MF.

UPLOADERS & SA TEAM: ANY site will starting deleting users or content that "violates copy right". You got to be INTELLIGENT: If you use a file name like: "windows 7" for your files, YOU WILL GET DELETED OR BLOCKED!!!! . Start using encrypted rar or 7z files, with some cryptic name, can be anything like "87uyrttr_part01.rar"
USE YOUR HEAD AND GIVE US BACK RS & MF: Get it in your head: No RS or mediafire, NO download, back to torrents or some other DOWNLOADER friendly site.
Admins another idea. Just make an option where we could select in our profile if we want to see the articles without RS links or not like for the XXX articles. :-)

Could Softarchive please go back to specifying a required download site. I don't have the money to subscribe to all the sites represented here. As soon as I do subscribe to one, someone will start using some other. I'm not pushing for any specific site, just some consistent site to subscribe to. Thanks for listening.
Just my opinion, but don't buy a subscription until SA tell us their new rules (should be in next 10 days, IMHO better they make a good decision then a fast one)
Also no one knows when FBI or other agency will take down some filehost or another, so I wouldn't recommend buying a years subscription, one to six months seems safer.
When I joined SA it was mandatory that RS be used - I totally get you want to let other sharers use different services, but given the majority of us followed your rules and subscribed to RS - it should be mandatory to post with it as 1 of the 3 minimum hosts. You cannot keep changing your mind simply because free users get slow speeds. Der- thats the point of ALL hosts to give free users slow speeds - it makes them join/subscribe.
If you are going to change this again - you will LOSE a lot of your long-term & loyal members - for what? A few free users ho are too cheap to buy a subscription?
PS: You also stated that a reason for changing is RS were closing some accounts - could it be that the users having their accounts closed were putting the movie titles in the file names? Doesn't everyone know that all hosting services run filename searches looking for movies that breach copyright etc? If posters were made post files in coded filenams etc without movie titles in the name then these mass searches wouldf be unable to find the users. People need to start thinking smarter about this. I have noticed that files posted ages ago with 1213 style filenames are still valid today - yet posts with the full title get deleted within 24-48 hrs. This applies to ALL hosters as well - noty just RS. They do this to appease the law - and justify their existence.
Sorry - but its just my view point.
Isn't it strange how the people above complaining about having their accounts susopended are the same culpritsd who have blatently included the full movie or tv show title in the file uploads? Wonder why they get suspended!!!
What was wrong with RAPIDSHARE?
Just a warning: RAPIDGATOR is a scum:
- downloads just don't work. For a week I got 2 successful downloads from them.
- rapidgator doesn't work with any automatic file downloader. This means you have to download every single link by clicking it.
- all you get for your money is "500 Server Error" od "Session expire" errors
- if you want yout money back, as the service sucks, you get informed that: "Dear customer, Unfortunately, we don't refund if you changed your mind, didn't use rapidgator service, didn't meet your expectations, didn't undestand or something else like this. If you still have any inquiries, please contact us."
Anyway, beware !
Well, you've finally driven SoftArchive from the greatest to the worst site ever. Thank you to anyone still using Rapidshare, Depositfiles, Mediafire, etc... To the rest, shame on you... I'm with ElQuia. No more downloads from SA. I peek in to see whats new then search elsewhere for RS download and have found one everytime. The quality of uploads has greatly dropped. SA used to be a great site, but the "Team" has really tanked the site this time.

It seems that most uploaders are using RapidGator, Letitbit and ShareFlare? Letitbit and ShareFlare only allow you to download one file per day even if the file is only a few hundred k, and RapidGator has a daily limit too! These restrictions are obviously designed to get downloaders to pay!
i agreed with dmc, ShareFlare free download doesn't even work after going thru all the ads and when you enter the correct capcha it will return unknown error. RapidGator forever telling i have downloaded file, even it was a failed download due to the connection error.
RapidGator is crap, download speeds are terrible. Go back to RS a lot stabler and faster.

Rapidgator has gone to the dogs lately, premium doesn't work with many downloaders and lots of CRC file errors.
Uploaded might be good, but payment option is non existent from Australia. Paymentwall only lists one foreign prepaid card.

There is a problem with RAPIDGATOR and UPLOADED and credit cards, they do not support anymore paypal and now visa,madtercard and amxpress have some issue with them here in the USA. I will advise to move out of this file sharing and fiend some that allow us to paid for them.
People are continuum using RAPIDGATOR and UPLOADED, this to companies have issues with Paypal and credit cards.
Their use here is bad, due that the majority user paid for premium services,whe must use companies that support Paypal or at least don't have issues with credit cards.
