Relational Autonomy: Feminist Perspectives on Autonomy, Agency, and the Social Self
328 pages | Publisher: Oxford University Press, USA (January 27, 2000) | ISBN: 0195123344 | PDF | 20.9 Mb
This collection of original essays explores the social and relational dimensions of individual autonomy. Rejecting the feminist charge that autonomy is inherently masculinist, the contributors draw on feminist critiques of autonomy to challenge and enrich contemporary philosophical debates about agency, identity, and moral responsibility. The essays analyze the complex ways in which oppression can impair an agent's capacity for autonomy, and investigate connections, neglected by standard accounts, between autonomy and other aspects of the agent, including self-conception, self-worth, memory, and the imagination.
Interpersonal Rejection
352 pages | Publisher: Oxford University Press, USA (February 15, 2001) | ISBN: 0195130146 | PDF | 17.7 Mb
Interpersonal rejection ranks among the most potent and distressing events that people experience. Romantic rejection, ostracism, stigmatization, job termination, and other kinds of rejections have the power to compromise the quality of people's lives. As a result, people are highly motivated to avoid social rejection, and, indeed, much of human behavior appears to be designed to avoid such experiences. Yet, despite the widespread effects of real, anticipated, and even imagined rejections, psychologists have devoted only passing attention to the topic, and the research on rejection has been scattered throughout a number of psychological subspecialties (e.g., social, clinical, developmental, personality).
Red SAM: The SA-2 Guideline Anti-Aircraft Missile (Osprey New Vanguard 134)
48 pages | Publisher: Osprey Publishing (May 22, 2007) | ISBN: 1846030625 | PDF | 14.8 Mb
The Russian SA-2, nicknamed "Red SAM",is history's dominant antiaircraft missile. In 1960, it famously downed Gary Powers' U-2 spyplane, and two years later it was one of the missiles deployed during the Cuban Missile Crisis, which almost sparked a nuclear showdown between America and the USSR. The SA-2 was also deployed in Vietnam, North Korea, Egypt, and even the Gulf War. Using photographs, color artwork, and rare accounts from the weapon's designers, Steven J Zaloga examines the missile's development, linking this to its massive impact on Cold War air campaigns, and investigates the design changes that have helped the SA-2 stand the test of time.
The Ninth Arch
603 pages | Publisher: Starfire Pub. Ltd. (2002) | ISBN: 0954388704 | PDF | 127.2 Mb
I am still reading half way through the Typhonian Trilogies but from the work I have read and the bits I have read through this I know without a doubt it is an amazing work. Full of erudite reserach and personal insights that only Kenneth Grant could have; on gematria, his work with aleister crowley, and the history of Setian magick and religious history which is mostly looked over by scholars. Furthermore the contacting of alien intelligences is a very powerful tool described in his work. Highly recocmended! It also includes great artwork by many painters and draughtsman.
