During World War 2, the legend-in-leotards Captain Invincible helped the Allies and was proclaimed a hero.
Alas, with the McCarthy era he was labelled a commie sympathiser and a premature anti-fascist. Disillusioned, the good Captain dropped out of sight. But at the start of the 1980s, his arch enemy Mister Midnight resurfaces and steals the US military’s new super weapon. The President initiates a search and Invincible is discovered, an overweight alcoholic and living rough in Australia. Moreover, he has forgotten how to fly. It’s a race against time to restore the Captain to his former glory and defeat the evil machinations of Mister Midnight!
