The United Nations estimates almost 200,000 people have been killed since Syria's civil war began, with many hundreds of thousands more injured. Millions have been forced from their homes, but the full human cost of the conflict is little known to the outside world because of the danger Western journalist’s face in trying to enter areas not controlled by the government. Most doctors have fled from those locations and many hospitals have been destroyed, but this documentary follows British trauma surgeon David Nott as he makes the perilous journey across the border into Syria to work alongside medics who have stayed behind. He carries out life-saving surgery in a facility forced underground by daily bombardment.

With more people taking a wider range of drugs than ever before, Radio 1 DJ B. Traits meets users and dealers to find out how much they really know about their drugs - and whether they're safe. After a decade working in some of the biggest clubs in the world, she worries that many people have no idea what they're taking, and are being sold drugs that aren't what they think. With exclusive access to high profile clubs in Britain and Ibiza, and to emergency services struggling to deal with the latest compounds they know little about, she explores why drug-related deaths in the UK have suddenly increased, and how much of that is down to the rapid growth of legal highs. As she talks to families at odds over drugs and to dealers who don't care about the contents or effects of what they're selling, she discovers the realities of the country's constantly changing drugs market, putting aside moral judgements and political debates to find out how the thousands of people who regularly take drugs can stay safe. Is it time for a new approach? She also meets Dr Zee - the man who invented legal highs, who claims he's invented a new drug that he says 'has all the fun, but none of the risk'. Is he right?

EATEN ALIVE features snake researcher and conservationist Paul Rosolie who has dedicated his career to studying the giant green anaconda, the largest and most powerful snake in the world and the top predator in the Amazon. An author (Mother of God: An Extraordinary Journey into the Uncharted Tributaries of the Western Amazon), Rosolie has specialized in the western Amazon for more than a decade and his efforts have helped bring awareness to the Peruvian Rainforest, the natural habitat of the giant green anaconda. This past summer, over a 60-day period, crews documented Rosolie's expedition to an enchanted and hidden realm deep within the Amazonian jungle, an area the locals call the "floating forest." It is in the floating forest that Rosolie believes the largest anacondas in the world live and breed, and one of the only locations to truly study these elusive and majestic snakes in the wild.

The most dangerous idea in science might turn out to be true: we live in a multiverse of truly infinite proportions. The universe we live in may not be the only one out there. In fact, our universe could be just one of an infinite number of universes making up a "multiverse The first 'hard evidence' that other universes exist has been found by scientists. Cosmologists studying a map of the universe from data gathered by the Planck spacecraft have concluded that it shows anomalies that can only have been caused by the gravitational pull of other universes.
The map shows radiation from the Big Bang 13.8billion years ago that is still detectable in the universe - known as cosmic microwave radiation. Scientists had predicted that it should be evenly distributed, but the map shows a stronger concentration in the south half of the sky and a 'cold spot' that cannot be explained by current understanding of physics. Laura Mersini-Houghton, theoretical physicist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Richard Holman, professor at Carnegie Mellon University, predicted that anomalies in radiation existed and were caused by the pull from other universes in 2005.

Documentary telling the story of the Grays and their controversial way of life, filmed over two years. After a run-in with the law on Christmas Eve 1999, John Joe Gray skipped bail the following year and took his loved ones to live on a remote Texan compound - telling police to bring body bags if they planned to come and get him. The family remains heavily armed and ready for a shoot-out, and the police, fearing a bloody confrontation, have chosen not to enter. The Grays live on a 47-acre homestead with no mains electricity, plumbing or telephone. Water is sourced from a natural spring, and they hunt and farm to survive. This film asks what the future holds for them, and whether the situation can ever be brought to a peaceful conclusion.
