Film director Danny Boyle produces a stunning cultural show ahead of the athletes' parade, during which over 200 countries are expected to be represented followed by the official opening, the arrival of the torch and the lighting of the cauldron.The cauldron consists of 204 petals, one for each competing nation or territory, which were lit by seven young athletes chosen by British Olympic champions. The Olympic flame arrived by speedboat carrying David Beckham who handed it to Sir Steve Redgrave Up to one billion people worldwide watched the opening ceremony on television along with 80,000 in the Olympic Stadium. The Queen arrived in the stadium after a video produced by the BBC showed her being flown there in a helicopter with "James Bond" - actor Daniel Craig.
