Tor Browser Bundle 2.2.37-1, FREEWARE

Tor Browser Bundle 2.2.37-1 | 24 Mb | FREEWARE

Surfing anonymously provides a powerful shield against network surveillance and traffic analysis. Protecting your online privacy can only be achieved by additional software tools that can hide your location and can prevent your online information and browsing habits from being revealed to anyone.

If you’re ever in need of such a tool, Tor Browser Bundle is one suggestion you can add to the list. The application relies on a network of virtual servers in order to make your browsing sessions anonymous. Tor makes available a set of rules and algorithms that routes the communications through various servers all over the world. Thus, all the traffic is randomized so tracking the source becomes an almost impossible task.

The download package is a self-extracting archive that includes the Tor application itself, which can be run from command line, a cross platform controller GUI named Vidalia and a custom-made version of Firefox equipped with a set of addons that ensure online anonymity.

We advise the average user to consider using the Vidalia application, because the graphical interface puts you through a lesser ordeal than the command prompt version of Tor. When you first run Vidalia, it automatically connects to the Tor network and if the process is successful, a status will be displayed in the main window.

Vidalia’s interface encases a collection of shortcuts that allow you to stop the service, to start setting up the relays, to trigger a global view of the network and most important of all, it sports a button for using a new identity any time you wish. If you’re interested in bandwidth usage, Vidalia features a separate utility just for showing a bandwidth graph that measures the receive/send rate of the packets.

The portable Firefox version included in the download package is customized with a few extensions that make the anonymous surfing experience easier. These include: Torbutton - allows you to create a new identity each time you start a browsing session, NoScript – blocks scripts from untrusted domains and HTTPS Everywhere - enables you to encrypt the communication with a lot of popular sites.

With all the components it encases, Tor Browser Bundle is one of the most trustworthy anonymous surfing tools out there. It can be configured from command prompt, run from its dedicated GUI controller – Vidalia and comes with a pre-configured web browser. Whichever of these methods you choose the result is a safe and controlled Internet browsing experience.

Read an interesting tip this morning from the latest WebUSer magazine, on how to deal with Youtube videos can't can't show because it is blocked in yoru country. I haven't tried it yet since I could find any video of course that was blocked, but try it if you have such a video....and report back if it works or not.
    Text from the article...
"Tweak the URL by removing 'watch?' and replace the '=' with a forward slash. SO instead of 'youtube.com/watch?v={number}' the URL should read 'youtube.com/v/{number}"
    I hope it works!!

I know but some newer laptops can't handle XP, tried installing it on a cousins 2 year old Fujitsu kept getting BSOD, so that PC ended up with a 7SP1 64bit, it did have 4GiB of RAM but it shared it with the GFX (a good Nvidia I think it was 240M with 1GiB RAM) so only 3 wore available to the system, and there's a saying here If there's going to be a ball why not make it a ball masqué meaning if you're gonna do something do it all the way.

There was no point in putting a 64bit OS on a device with 4 GiB of RAM except for bragging, teenagers what can I say. I still prefer XP don't see the need for 7 let alone 8, don't use Direct X 10/11 (what version is it up to now?) don't need 2D acceleration, nor do I plan on using Office 2013 for me there's no need to upgrade.

If they can get it, so can we.
Also M$ will not shut down XP. It will still work. Just no more update Tuesdays.(Which can be a good thing)

And DDR3 is extremely cheep with large Memory chips available 8 and 16 GiB per slot are standard and cheeper then a 2 GiB DDR2, you'ld need that much RAM and a 64bit OS if you do a lot of Video editing, especially 1080p HD I don't want to calculate now so I may be wrong but one 8 bit (10 is standard now) video frame of 1080 HD needs around 6.2 MiB, using a US 30 fps standard 1 second of video needs 186 MiB etc... unless you're in to video editing or professional photographer 4GiB's all you need.

I have DDR2, but it's the fastest one, 800megz. I only do a little video editing, so what I have is enough. The good thing about Win 7, is I get Nvidia Cuda, The video programs use my video processor, which makes it 10% faster.

The only bad thing about XP is lack of a native firewall and the enabled by default volume Shares like $C, the practice that nobody uses a password for the Admin account (I don't aether), with a little tweaking and a free firewall/antivirus XP can be the most secure OS around.

Vodafone are the second largest ISP/Cable/Telco here and they recently bought out the third largest.
When I got a new account with them 5 months ago I was promised a $30 per month rebate.
I didn't get it, so just took it off what I paid each month. They cut me off.
It's sorted now but I'm not going to pay for the last 12 days (non)service so will probably get cut off again sometime in the future.

PS does anyone have any idea what this BS is about "data:text/html,<script>window.close();</script>" ?
It appears in the address bar of a Chrome page that keeps opening when I use (non anonymz.com) links at SA.

It's an embedded javascript that does what? Closes a window, I think it's part of the old image hosting

It might be a chrome only thing as I can't seam to find it

Cheers, that would be why it only happens with Bubster's and my old posts.
    (and probably other old articles)

Chrome seems to have gone crazy after 2 weeks of no use.
Won't even work with IDM any more.
That's probably a Google plot to stop people downloading YouTube.

no it's not that, that close button is ordinary html code, I'm not sure what that is I opened this page and could not find it, it might be an ad blocked by adblock plus.

Weird but unimportant I guess (just have to close a few extra pages when here).
Only seems to happen with Chrome and only going to or leaving old Posts (eg those with images from imgarchive.info.
No problems with IE or Opera or jumping from, say, Q&A to HOME.
Maybe I'll uninstall and reinstall Chrome and see what happens.
(this time I'll remember to save bookmarks LOL)

Good morning mf, the movie is blocked, BUT bubster might have something with the http://www.youtube.com/v/7cp00HMll04. I turned on SecurityKiss, used that link, when the video started, I closed SecurityKiss, clicked in the IDM download it. Am waiting to see if the download finishes. Then I can try it on this one

I started SecurityKiss, went to youtube to watch the video, shut off SecurityKiss. I am downloading it now.

Also the page here automatically refreshed when you put the video in?

    I got both!

Thanks for the movie. I did an IP check & I'm where I'm supposed to be. So either IDM found a way around it or I don't know. (I tried that before, IDM, stopped as soon as soon as I turned off SecurityKiss. I'll refer to it as (SK) next time. Too much to type.
