This is somebody's overworked imagination. I work at a large university and this so-called student edition as stated above doesn't and never has existed. We have cases of student edition CDs and every one of them has a serial number and requires activation. I have asked numerous posters to provide me with an original cd of this supposed 'student edition' and no one in the last 5 years has been able to do so. And has anyone ever wondered why it has all the hacked additions/updates added. I would be very suspicious of these releases. Just want to warn you and give you straight information.

If you do not believe you can check! If you do not know what is wrong spokesperson

but if you look closely on those add-on programs, those are essential for running most of "students programs" i.e : Java programs.

Whatever, don't use this as primary OS with personal info. This version may be injected with stuff that will get information from you to the releaser. It's up to you...

Installed this on a test pc, rebooted several times, all ok. Went to Microsoft Updates, installed all current updates. Passed WGA validation. Has updated since.
