Hey you lots its not direct X 10 its actually Direct X 9.0 L...They made this new version 9.0 L for gaming purpose.....the one we are actually using is Direct X 9.0 C...And Zues thanks for the remind..

1] as you see in the pict above it's not even an alpha designation.
2] not even a beta test version, for beta testers.
3] not even a release candidate either I would wait till a stable RC [release Cabdidate 2 or up, as they will have worked most of the bugs out, LOL MS fixing all the bugs.
As an MS beta tester these versions are more headaches than anything else, M$ RELEASES OS's, DX'S, UPDATES ETC, AS THEY BETA TEST ON ALL OF US AND THEY ADD PATCHES AFTER PATCHES THAT THE SYSTEMS OR WE SEND TO MS and they patch the apps up, so we pay for a junk OS like vista ultimate and as people report problems they fix the security ones first then patch the problems.

hi 'Damjan' this instruction is only to compile examples in directx sdk and test theme in windows xp and if you read this line

you should know that copying these files are for the reason of test not for using directx 10 it self and there will be some problems that's why the recommend sample is in the tutorial 12 cause it doesn't fully use directx 10

so i just want to confirm if there are really changes like playing 'crysis' with directx 10 effect activated, also 'gears of war' (i don't want thoery answers, i just want from who test it in realy to answer)

Copy d3d10.dll, d3dx10.dll, d3dx10.dll, dxgi.dll, and Nucleus.dll to C:\windows\system32\

To get the examples:
1) Follow the instructions on http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/usingpsdk/
2) Download and install the DirectX SDK from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=86cf7fa2-e953-475c-abde-f016e4f7b61a&displaylang=en

To build and run an example:
1) Go to the Microsoft DirectX SDK folder, Samples, C++, Direct3D10, Tutorials, Tutorial12
2) Double-click "Tutorial12_2005.sln"
3) Select "Start Without Debugging" from the Debug menu.

There are a number of known issues with most of the tutorials, but they will all work to some extent.

it didn't make any def in my system ( i have XP with SP3RC

How does it work? Wil it make my Crysis look on XP as on Vista? In the txt is just a method of installation. And by the way - aren't there any problems with DX9 games?
