The Mathematical Theory of the Top → E-Books![]() 204 pages | 1988 | DJVU | 5 Mb This collection of essays by a distinguished mathematician and teacher examines important issues of dynamics from the viewpoint of the theory of functions of the complex variable. Based on a series of lectures delivered by Felix Klein in conjunction with Princeton University’s 150th anniversary, these presentations center on the problem inherent in the motion of a top—that is, a rigid body rotating about an axis—when a single point in this axis other than the center of gravity is fixed in position. today 06:00 | Posted by NFO The Theory of Functions → E-Books![]() 464 pages | 1976 | PDF | 5 Mb Many people would rather buy a Dover Book than this one, just because it is so high-priced. Most of the time, that is a good idea, but it isn't when it comes to THIS book. This book serves as an excellent complement to A Course of Modern Analysis by Whittaker and Watson (yes, together the two books are 135 dollars, but buy them BOTH). While Modern Analysis essentially covers the basics of the theory of functions before moving on to the greatest treatment of special functions ever written, this book by Titchmarsh expands tremendously upon the material in the first ten or eleven chapters of Whittaker and Watson's book. Relativity: The Special and the General Theory → E-Books![]() 208 pages | 1995 | PDF | 6,5 Mb If you are interested in understanding the basic concepts of Relativity Theory, even if you have little mathematical background, then read this book. If you are a student or technical person that wants more of a "plain text" supplement to a technical course or presentation, then read this book. I read it many, many years ago when I was 14, and it had a profound effect on my outlook from that point onward. I labored over several topics sometimes for a week, but then, I was 14! What Is the Theory of Relativity → E-Books![]() 313 pages | 2003 | PDF | 5 Mb Originally published in the Soviet Union for use in schools in India, this introduction to the theory of relativity covers all the fundamentals is a meaningful and understandable way. Theory of Relativity → E-Books![]() 255 pages | 1981 | PDF | 7,5 Mb This is a pretty doggone good book! The last chapter, especially the last two pages of the text, provides an excellent synopsis of the long standing problem on the structure of matter. It seems that what is left to be done involves the invention or creation of a different mathematical source which is capable of generating a symmetric tensor of rank two that will successfully displace the singularity thru the proper incorporation of the energy tensor, Tuv. This would most certainly shed a new light on the generation of mass and the inherent formation of matter: Form defines Function, Function generates Form. You Betcha!!! Quantum Theory → E-Books![]() 655 pages | 1988 | PDF | 10,1 Mb The age of the book is what gives it a huge advantage to today's typical QT and QM textbook. Instead of presenting the concepts in the "status quo" of physics (usually just a ridiculously brief intro to why QT started, and then presenting Operators as things almost perfectly synonymous to classical concepts and continuing from there), this book really goes through the history of where all the math came from. Geometric Measure Theory (Classics in Mathematics) → E-Books![]() 676 pages | 1996 | PDF | 5 Mb First published in 1969 and initially intended as a reference for mature mathematicians and as a textbook for able students, this remarkable book constitutes the ultimate treatise on the subject still nowadays. It is written in an "economical" style, which means that you may well spend several hours in reading one single page (and there are 654 of them!). As a matter of fact, the author himself states in the preface that just chapter 2 is enough for a one-year graduate course. Quantum Theory Of Atomic Process → E-Books![]() 444 pages | 2007 | PDF | 10,5 Mb TO MY FRIEND WALTER DALLENBACH FROM THE AUTHORS PREFACE TO THE FIRST GERMAN EDITION THE importance of the standpoint afforded by the theory of groups for the discovery of the general laws of quantum theory has of late become more and more apparent. Since I have for some years been deeply concerned with the theory of the representation of continuous groups, it has seemed to me appropriate and important to give an account of the knowledge won by mathematicians working in this field in a form suitable to the requirements of quantum physics. Architectural Theory: An Anthology from Vitruvius to 1870 → E-Books![]() 616 pages | 2005 | PDF | 3 Mb This landmark anthology surveys the major developments and trends in architecture from Vitruvius to Gottfried Semper. It is the first volume to make available in one place the major statements in English, German, French, and Italian that constructed architecture as a field.
