Yesterday - 170 | Today +0Enigma - Voyageur → Music - Other styles![]() Voyageur is an album created by the musical project Enigma. It is Enigma's fifth album and released in 2003. Due to Enigma's drastic changes as compared to their previous four albums, Voyageur was considered to be Enigma's most different album ever created. The project's signature shakuhachi flutes, Gregorian chants and tribal chants found on the earlier albums were completely gone on Voyageur. Instead most of the songs found on the album were more pop-oriented, such as "Voyageur", "Incognito", "Boum-Boum" and "Look of Today". In fact, Michael Cretu, the producer of Enigma described Voyageur's genre as "sophisticated pop". Enigma - The Cross of Changes (Enigma II) → Music - Other styles![]() The Cross of Changes is a 1993 album by the musical project Enigma. It is Enigma's second album, following MCMXC a.D., released three years earlier. The most notable song of the album was "Return to Innocence", which was released as a single and featured in several film soundtracks. A more rock-infused sound is present in The Cross of Changes, and the Gregorian chants from the previous album were replaced with ethnic-style world chants. The Ami (Native Taiwanese) chants featured in "Return to Innocence" are often wrongly identified as Native American. Best Internet Links → SoftWare
today 06:00 | Posted by NFO Enigma - A Posteriori → Music - Other styles![]() A Posteriori is the title of the musical project Enigma's sixth studio album, released in September 2006. In December 2006, the album was nominated in the Best New Age Album category in the 2007 Grammy Awards. While the previous album, Voyageur, contained minimal amounts of the project's signature sounds, A Posteriori only contains the signature "Enigma horn" (a foghorn) during the opening minute of the album, and even then it is a fleeting glimpse. Coupled with the album's subject matter of the collision of the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, A Posteriori is, compared to earlier releases, stark and foreboding. Enigma - Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi ! (Enigma III) → Music - Other styles![]() Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! (French for "The King is Dead, Long Live the King!") is a 1996 album created by the music project Enigma. Released on November 25, 1996, the album reached to the top spot in Norway's top 40 charts and third in the whole of Europe. Two singles from the album - "Beyond the Invisible" and "T.N.T. for the Brain" were also released at around the same time of its parent album. A planned third single, "The Roundabout" was scrapped at the last minute for unclear reasons, even though a remix had already been created by DJ Quicksilver.

Cretu, who's based his recording studio A.R.T. Studios in Ibiza, Spain in early '90s is both the composer and the producer of the project. His former wife Sandra often provided vocals on Enigma tracks. Jens Gad co-produced and played guitar on three of the Enigma albums. Seven studio albums have been produced under the name of the project. Their first and most successful album, MCMXC a.D., sold more than 16 million copies worldwide. Enigma was among the first recording groups to use a digital audio workstation as a recording studio and to include non-percussion musical instrument and vocal samples, such as the Shakuhachi flute and Gregorian monk chants. |
